The administrative body in charge of implementing the auxiliary programme for the event of exceptional public interest “Expo Dubai 2020”.
Spanish ministerial decree PCI/386/2019 from 2 April establishes an administrative body in charge of implementing the auxiliary programme for the event of exceptional public interest “Expo Dubai 2020”.
This body is comprised of a group of representatives from the Spanish Ministry of Finance, a representative from the Ministry of Culture and Sports, and a representative from the state-owned company Acción Cultural, S.A. It is in charge of carrying out the programme of activities for the Pavilion, verifying that expenses align with the objectives and plans of the above mentioned event, and fulfilling objectives, plans, and programmes of specific activities for “Expo Dubai 2020”.
Acción Cultural Española (AC/E) is a state-owned entity dedicated to propelling and promoting the culture and heritage of Spain, within and beyond its borders, via a rich programme of activities including exhibitions, conventions, conferences, cinema, theatre, music, audiovisual productions and initiatives that promote the mobility of professionals and creators. As such, it is in charge of Spain’s presence in Universal and International Exhibitions.
AC/E’s projects highlight Spain’s diverse contributions to global culture as well as the recent contributions of its most contemporary creators in the major creative areas from science to history; from plastic, performing and audiovisual arts to literature, music, architecture and design; among others.
The Spain Pavilion at Expo Dubai 2020 is considered to be an event of exceptional public interest. This declaration promotes participation from the private sector and offers collaborating companies significant incentives, as set forth in article 27 of the law from the tax system governing non-profit organisations and tax incentives for patronage (49/2002 from 23 December).
